Gregory A. Groves, O.D.
Dr. Groves graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1980. He is certified by the West Virginia Board of Optometry and joined the practice in 1980. He graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy in 1976. Dr. Groves special interest is the Anterior Segment.
Dr. Groves was born in Clarksburg and raised in Bridgeport where he resides with his wife Judith, whom he met at WVU. They have two sons, Greg, Jr., a first year student as Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA., and John, a student at WVU. Dr. Groves enjoys snow skiing, fishing, gardening and has coached youth baseball, basketball and soccer. He is a member of several associations including:

Harry M. Murray III, O.D.
Dr. Harry (Hank) M. Murray III was born in Clarksburg, WV. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1971 and graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. In 1979, he graduated from Southern College of Optometry and Started practicing with his father, Harry M. Murray, Jr. O.D. They practiced together for 25 years.
Hank has been practicing for 31 years and during that time he has served as President of the West Virginia Optometric Association in 1988- 1989. He served on the Bridgeport Library Board of Trustees for 19 years and helped to lead the library in a fund drive to secure the existing new library building. He also served on the Bridgeport City Council from 1997 to 2009 and during that time he served On the Bridgeport Planning Commission. For the last 30 years, he has been a member of the Bridgeport Rotary club where he also served as President 2005. He is currently on the Burnside Foundation Board of Trustees.
Hank has been married to his wife, Sherry since 1975. They have 3 daughters Ashley, Meredith and Julia and 2 grandchildren Presley and Sean. |
J. William Barnes, O.D.
Dr. Bill Barnes has been an associate of Drs. Murray and Groves since August of 2002. He was born in Wheeling, WV, where he graduated from Wheeling Park High School. He then spent four years earning his Bachelor's degree in Biology at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Upon graduation, Bill moved to Philadelphia, PA, to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now part of Salus University). While in optometry school, he earned both his Bachelor's degree in Optics and his Doctorate in Optometry.
Dr. Barnes' wife, Emily, whom he met while at Wesleyan, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and is in the employ of the School of Nursing at WVU in Morgantown, WV. They reside in Fairmont, WV, with their three young children. Bill volunteers at their church as a guitar player and vocalist for the praise team. He also enjoys playing softball and golf, biking, and spending time in the yard and at the local parks and pools with his family.
Dr Barnes is also a big fan of the Mountaineers and Pittsburgh professional sports teams. |
